I would have to say that I too am a great fan of JW Turner whom I discovered while living in Florence, Italy a few years ago. I was enamored by his sunsets. Your work is very much like mine which I find a rarity. I live on a small island in the pacific called Guam and here we have sunsets that explode into fire and glorious music. Taliea

Hello, I have just visited your site and am in awe. Your work is beautiful. I have recently started painting and call myself a realist. Our world is so beautiful and there is so much that I want to paint, but lack the practise. I would love to take more courses but funding is an issue so for now I will keep practising - there may be someone out there, other than my husband and family, who will enjoy my work as much as I enjoy sharing it. Thank you for sharing your work.

I was impressed with your website. I'm in the process of doing a literacy paper which concentrates on computer literacy and I've chosen your website to focus on in a prescribed learning activity. I also paint and am doing a seascape currently. I don't live near the sea however I am using photos and my memory. I've also done several sky paintings and understood what you meant about painting the highlights first and then the shadows. Regards, Anne

Ken. Thanks for making your work available on-line. I feel there is some kind of drama, musical, in alot of these pictures. Are there any techniques that you have tried for quick recording of a scene and found just don't work?

I enjoy looking at your paintings..they are so relaxing. I am trying to learn to "glaze" and make my art more realistic, but I have a long way to go. I love landscapes and yours are just beautiful. I appreciate the tips you give. Thanks.

Painting moonlight does present it's own set of challenges, but I feel that a nocturne can be one of the most compelling ways to render a landscape. The moon and the night have thrilled and frightened and drawn us to make them the subjects of our paintings, our stories down through recorded history. They are dieties and monsters, and whenever a nocturne is on display in a room it is one of the first pieces that people gather to view. I enjoy the feeling of night that you've captured in your work, and you are the only other person I've EVER known to have seen a night rainbow! When I witnessed one I had no idea what I was seeing and was met with much snickering and doubt! One learns to keep some treasures to one's self, I guess! Anyway, very very good work. Ellen

I really love your work it is very similar to what I am doing at the moment. Your choice of colors are very pleasing to the eye, as well as the realistic depth in most of your paintings. I am an artist myself. I am self taught. My main inspiration comes from Photorealism Wildlife Art. Carl Brendars is my Idol. If you are not familar with his work look him up on the web he is worth your time. Again your work is very impressive.

Dear Ken, Just visited your web site, your paintings are absolutely delightful. I have been playing with glazes over the past few days - unsuccessfully. Can you tell me the best method of mixing them, and is it best if they are thick or runny? Would love to more about this method of painting. With thanks Ann
