Mugdrum Island and Newburgh   20x24ins (approx. 51x61cm.) Oil on Canvas                                 £850

A view of the Tay and Mudgrum Island from the Newburgh road. The river here looks like a vast curving plain of silver and Mugdrum Island lies like a crescent within the bend, shaped by the flow of the Tay.

I went back to this painting after “finishing” it the first time! It needed more light in the sky and a bit more warmth to truly reflect the reality of a bright clouded day with the light reflecting up from the river.

This is one of my favourite views.
