Quick study of a strong shape formed by shadow and light around a cloud in the Tay Estuary. Initially worked in fluid paint to establish the basic shape and tone, the painting was built up with thicker paint in the studio and a final glaze taken over the image to “warm up” the colour and accentuate the form within the brushmarks.
