An outdoor study of a birch tree in a sunny day in Fife. This tree was so old it took some time before I realised it was actually a silver birch. The light seemed unusually warm, almost orange although I suspect this was more to do with the local colour than the sun.

Still in the light as the afternoon moved on but only just!

A fairly alarming shadow appeared here, while I was painting but thankfully, it was really projected from a tree...

...at least I think it was.
