The Tea Shop adjoins the Watts Gallery and serves home cooked food. Open every day, all year from 10.30am to 5.30pm. It is  small and friendly with seating outside for when the sun shines. Sandwiches, cooked lunches, scones and cakes are all made on the premises.  Very reasonably priced and  recommended by Egon Ronay .  Tel: 01483 811 030.

The Teashop at the Watts Gallery is best described as an oasis of food in a sea of greenery.

Compton is easily accessible by car as it is signed just off the A3 south of Guildford.  Take the B3000 from the A3 signed to Godalming / Farnham and then Compton.  At the roundabout at the end of the slip road take the first left.  Immediately after this take the first road on the left, Down Lane. Follow the signpost saying 'Art Gallery', The Gallery is a few hundred yards along Down Lane on the right. 

Watts Gallery, Teashop

The Watts Gallery was opened in 1904 to show the work of the artist G.F.Watts. It was founded with the philanthropic aim of making great art available to all and it continues with this aim in mind today.

One of G.F.Watts truly massive sculptures. He had railway lines built into his studio so that he could work indoors then pull the work out on a wagon to view it in the daylight.

Watts Chapel, Compton, Interior

This is the Watts Chapel and shows the art nouveau relief decoration both inside and out.

The interior mural, which extends over all surfaces, is a heavily modelled, gilded and painted art nouveau design of impressive proportions. 

The exterior is extensively decorated in terracotta tiles fired in the Watts own Pottery
